What is buffering
Buffering
Buffer is a small memory area that stores data while they are transferred between two devices or between a device and CPU or one computer to another computer via Internet it is basically used to avoid to a speed mismatch between two devices for example that a file is received via modem or storage on the hard disk but the modem is so slower than the hard disc so a buffer is created in main memory to store the bytes received from the modem. When an entire buffer is full, the buffer can be written to disk. Mean while modem still a place to store data so another buffer is created and the modem then start to fill the second buffer the first buffer is written to disk. This technique is called double buffering. So we can say that buffer is a small Storage Area used to store our information temporary to eliminate for the difference in rates of data flow between various unit of a computer.
